Report: Winter D team romp to victory over Purton C

The D Team romped to victory in a one sided fixture against Purton C. First pair Matthew Penny and Katie Knight won their mixed 6-4, 7-5, whilst Ryan Birnie and Hristina Lacey-Hulbert drew their match 6-2, 4-6.

Resuming with a 3-1 lead both pairings were confident that they would win the necessary two sets to secure yet another two points. This was ensured when both the mens and ladies pairings took their respective first sets the men winning a classy one 6-4. The ladies promptly took the second, where Katie's experience and class shone through proving too much for their opponents. The men managed to lose their second 7-5 when serving for it, but to be fair they had dropped down a couple of gears knowing that the match had been won.

The team now have a couple of weeks before their next fixture, where they'll be looking to preserve their 100% record against Next Generation A.
