| 04/02/2023 | Upen Rai | Srikrishna Raghavan | 6-3 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Weather was good for a match today but such a shame that we had to start -stop so often for people walking in and out the court. It was lot busier then other times. Court 3 is probably not the best court to play match midday during weekends. Krish had few unforced errors today which let him down and this benefitted me in closing the game earlier then I hoped in the second set. I enjoyed playing last day of the league with Krish and hope to play more in the future. |
| 02/02/2023 | Upen Rai | Aviral Mittal | 6-2 | 6-3 | 0-0 | One of the best match I played in this league so far. Loads of powerfull rallies not wanting to loose points from both sides. We had a bit of wind which made it difficult for us both esp when the game was so competitive. Most of the game points was so close and often dueces. It could have easily gone either ways. I absolutely enjoyed playing with you Avi and hope to play more in the future. |
| 02/02/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Srikrishna Raghavan | 7-5 | 6-3 | 0-0 | This might be the only match I’ve played in the round so far where there was no risk of slipping! A bit of wind here and there caused some funny points but otherwise a good casual match as always is with Krish 😃 |
| 30/01/2023 | Aviral Mittal | Gerard Hayward | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Excellent Match. Gerard made it so difficult for me. First set we had so many deuce games, and the result could easily have gone the other way round. Also Gerard was playing with injured hand, so he could hardly use any power for his forehands, so I guess I got a bit of advantage there. Overall a lovely very close match, the scores of course doesn't reveal the whole story. I wish Gerard all the best for future games and I look forward towards playing him again. |
| 29/01/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Jarek Pieta | 6-3 | 3-6 | 6-4 | A long match played over two days due to the icy courts. Both Jarek and I kept holding serve till 3 games each in the first set and were already sweating despite a chilly night, which says more than enough about the quality of the points we were playing! I managed to get the break and hold after what felt like a never ending deuce but again, the rallies were sensational. On the second day (today), Jarek was playing with a lot more freedom and was on the way to winning the match being 3-0 up in the third set but I somehow managed to pull it back. A great 3-setter match as usual with Jarek - looking forward to playing again. |
| 29/01/2023 | Richard Lewis | Abhishek Sharma | 4-6 | 7-6 | 6-4 | This was a long but exciting match against Mr Abhishek “good looking serve” Sharma! Played over two sessions due to the ice. Sooo many games went to long Deuce rounds and it was close all the way. A match that could have gone either way. Really enjoyed it. Thanks. |
| 26/01/2023 | Uchenna Adimonye | Gerard Hayward | 6-0 | 6-3 | 0-0 | I started the game well, a bit surprising given that my first sets are not usually my best. Gerard gave away one too many unforced errors in the first set and I closed it rather quickly. The second set was different as Gerard picked up form having appeard to have warmed up, and was hitting his first serves and some good shots. I was able to hold my serve to close the match to put an end to a resurgent Gerard who appeared to be gunning for a comeback. All the best in your remaining games Gerard. |
| 26/01/2023 | Patrick Zebedee | Jarek Pieta | 6-1 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Despite Jarek receiving some blatant on-court coaching from the Raghavan family (:-)), I got an early lead and held on to take the first set. The second set was more topsy turvy: I got a 2-0 lead, then Jarek took three games for the loss of one point, we traded a bit and ended up with him 5-3 up. Then I got on a similar run and took the last four games. It was competitive all the way, though, with Jarek chasing down a lot of shots and hitting some well placed serves and passing shots. It was a pleasure Jarek - I look forward to the next one! |
| 19/01/2023 | Uchenna Adimonye | Peter Wilson | 6-2 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Weather was cold and the floor was a bit slippery as a result. Not the best night for tennis as we both were limited with our movements, but we gave it our best. Peter hit some really wicked slice shots. All the best with your remaining games. |
| 15/01/2023 | Upen Rai | Gerard Hayward | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | I enjoyed playing with Gerard today, not the best weather condition for a match with wind rain and sun in the eye but that didn't let our spirit down. I felt Gerard played a lot better in the second set but couldn't slim down his errors, and that benefitted me. I had expected and tried to close earlier in the second set but he was fought back really strong. Well played Gerard and good luck for your future matches ! |
| 15/01/2023 | Uchenna Adimonye | Richard Lewis | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Weather was quite cold and the ground a bit wet but that didn't stop a cracker of a match. The scoreline doesn't reflect how competitive the match was. Lots of long rallies, solid forehand winners, deuces and running about. Point of the match went to Richard. During a rally Rich was close to the net, so I hit a lob. Rich ran all the way to the baseline to save it and hit a no look forehand that just scrapped over the net winning the point. I think we were both happy to see the game come to an end after a competitive match. All the best in your remaining games. |
| 09/01/2023 | Uchenna Adimonye | Srikrishna Raghavan | 4-6 | 6-3 | 6-1 | Happy to get this game completed, as it was played over 2022 and 2023. First 2 sets were played in Dec, unfortunately we couldn't finish as time ran out. The final set played today (in Jan) was close with most games going to deuce, somehow most went my way. The scoreline doesn't tell the true picture. Also, Krish appeared to be battling cold symptoms, which may have given me an edge. Look forward to us playing again when you're 100% Krish. All the best with your remaining games. |
| 02/01/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Uchenna Adimonye | 6-4 | 0-6 | 6-4 | Very enjoyable match as it always is with Uche. Some really great pick ups from Uche in situations where I thought the point was fully mine - this happened far more in the second set than I wanted it to, hence the nil game from my end. Either way, a great long match as usual with Uche. We now stand at 3-2 head to head so really looking forward to playing again next time, whether it be in the local leagues or this league! |
| 13/12/2022 | Upen Rai | Uchenna Adimonye | 6-2 | 6-3 | 0-0 | It was not a good idea to play tennis at 8pm in this cold. Nevertheless this turned out to be a very competitive match regardless of what the scores tell. Uchenna can hit some good forehand. There were lots of continuous rallies and deuces. Unfortunately Uchenna couldn't keep up to his first serve which put him into slight disadvantage. I enjoyed playing with you and look forward to play with you in the future. |
| 12/12/2022 | Gerard Hayward | Jarek Pieta | 3-6 | 6-2 | 7-5 | Mad or stupid, the only people down there playing tennis.A long hard cold game.Jarek had so many chances to win this match, next time my friend. |
| 05/12/2022 | Srikrishna Raghavan | Jarek Pieta | 6-0 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Today the Weather was good (Better Winter Weather) for tennis and we both came with full energy to play our league match. Jarek seemed to have issue with serves and double faulted many points. Due to this, I won 1st set. Second set started off with a come back from Jarek who won his service game and was able to break my serve game. So it was 2-0. Unfortunately, Jarek couldn't get the serves in and I was able to hold my serves. Hence, 6-2 the second set. It is always a pleasure to play with you Jarek. Cheers buddy !! |
| 03/12/2022 | Upen Rai | Richard Lewis | 6-2 | 7-5 | 0-0 | It was great fun playing with you Richard. Lots of runaround from both sides trying to cover courts. Had to work hard for each points, non of us were giving loose points. It was very competitive match and I enjoyed playing with you. Good luck for your further matches. |
| 29/11/2022 | Gerard Hayward | Peter Wilson | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | My first game of singles in a long time, really enjoyed it, lots of deuces and long rally’s, well played Pete. |
| 25/11/2022 | Aviral Mittal | Srikrishna Raghavan | 6-3 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Good Match, could have been better if we both were not too tired. Krish hit some amazing forehand winners, but his unforced errors started creeping in. But it wasn't a easy match for sure, though it was slower than expected. I wish Krish all the best for his future matches. |
| 22/11/2022 | Aviral Mittal | Peter Wilson | 6-0 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Nice game, thanks Peter. The scores for sure do not reflect the actual situation. Also it was wet and slippery. Peter slipped twice at start. Also I think I have been very lucky today, what ever I hit, it ended up in corners at the right place, and then Peter had lots of unforced errors too especially to start with. He started gaining momentum, but I guess it was a bit too late. Overall I enjoyed a lot, and thanks for the nice match Peter, and wish you all the best. |
| 18/11/2022 | Aviral Mittal | Uchenna Adimonye | 6-2 | 0-6 | 6-1 | Excellent game. First set was quite long, and the scores does not reflect the actual story. Second set, Uche completely outclassed me, he played nice, very few unforced errors, and I ran out of options. I gave up after 4 games. But all credit to him. Third set, I had a plan to be a bit more attacking, and somehow it worked, and Uche's unforced errors also became a bit more. Overall, a lovely game, thanks Uche and I wish you all the best. |
| 15/11/2022 | Upen Rai | Abhishek Sharma | 6-3 | 6-0 | 0-0 | I enjoyed playing with Avishek today. Not the best condition for a match as the court was bit slippery and we both felt restriction to run for fast balls. Nevertheless most of the games were close if not deuces. Thank you Avishek for a match and hope to play with you in the future. |
| 13/11/2022 | Uchenna Adimonye | Jarek Pieta | 7-5 | 6-7 | 7-5 | Prefect weather conditions for tennis tonight. The match felt like a marathon as it took over 3hrs to finish. Lots of long rallies, endless deuces and overall good game from both sides. The match was very close and could have gone either way as you could tell from the scores. I somehow managed to hold on to win the 3rd set. Totally exhausted, we were both happy to see the match come to an end. Thanks for the game and all the best in your remaining matches Jarek! |
| 11/11/2022 | Aviral Mittal | Abhishek Sharma | 6-4 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Really a very good match. It was for sure far more difficult for me to win than the scores suggest. Abhishek hit some very fine forehand winners and made me work so hard for each and every point. But I think I was bit more consistent, and I held off my urge again to whack the ball, and controlled it nicely and focussed on placing it well instead. I wish him all the best, and I look forward towards playing again in future. Enjoyed it very much, thanks For a wonderful match Ahbishek. |
| 07/11/2022 | Upen Rai | Jarek Pieta | 6-2 | 6-1 | 0-0 | I enjoyed playing with Jarek today. Weather was windy with rain at times but it didn't stop us going full swing. Good game. |
