Both of made plenty of unforced errors, Geoff just made more than me, which is why I won in the end. The 2nd set was closer though, as Geoff fought back from a 1-4 deficit to claw it back to 4-4. I think took a break and held to take the set. Thanks Geoff., hopefully next time we play it will be better conditions! |

| 02/07/2023 | Karl Sloman | Uchenna Adimonye | 6-2 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Today there were 3 people on this court, me, Uche and the wind, which made both our lives very difficult. I'd never played Uche before and wasn't too sure what to expect, and on the first service game he threw 2 very fast serves, the first of which was an ace as I just wasn't expecting it! After that I made sure to be ready for them! I managed to keep my consistency up in the first set and that was what got me through to victory. The 2nd set I had a great start with 3-0 lead, but in that 4th game Uche found some amazing tennis and consistency, and fought tooth and nail. I think we had at least 6 deuces in that 4th game. I had to up my game and play aggressive in order to hold. The same thing happened in the 6th game, I thought I had it in the bag at 40-0, but then a few long shots from me took us to a deuce once again. And this one also went to deuce a few times before I managed to hold my nerve and take the win. Thanks for the game. |

Second Set Nick started getting his rhythm back and I was trailing in the set, but somehow managed to get it as well. Few of Nick's serves were like rocket, thankfully not many of them made into the courts :). I wish him all best of luck for his future matches. |

Second set Sudhakar picked up and started playing much better. He started second set strong leading 2-0.
