First night, it was quite windy which resulted in shorter rallies and more unforced errors. I settled in quicker and went 5-1 up in the first set. Jack fought back but I was able to close at 6-3. Second set I managed to go 5-1 up again and was relishing my first win in this singles round, with potentially straight sets. But Jack had other ideas and won 5 straight games going up 5-6. I managed to take it to tie break which I lost 5-7. On the second day we continued the 3rd set, again I went 5-1 up and this time was happy to see off the set at at 6-1. As always, great game Jack. Look forward to playing you again. |

We were both hitting great baseline groundstrokes and at pace, which plays right into my style of game. I love a good fast base-line rally and there were plenty! The score line seems to suggest it was very one-sided but it was much closer than that. Every game that Jack served went to deuce, we had many long rallies as well. I was playing really well and made very few errors. Thanks for the game Jack, thoroughly enjoyed it! |

Second set wasn't as easy as it looks, Puranjay kept the pressure all throughout, he also had a few game points, but a few double fault let him down. Puranjay was serving good, and his serves were more powerful than ever. Overall a very good game, I wish Puranjay all the best in his future games. |

At 2-2 I broke again and held to take it to 4-2 lead, after that it stayed on serve for me to take the set. The set overall was very competitive with Avi making few mistakes and keeping me deep in the court. In the 2nd set I found my flow and made fewer mistakes, conversely Avi started making more errors and I was able to maintain that pressure to get the win. Thanks for the game Avi |

I struggled to get started and lost the first set 1-6 as Uche came up with perfect lobs every time I came to the net. I settled down and won 11 out of the next 13 games. With the score at 1-6/6-0/5-2 I thought I had the game under control. Uche offered to finish the game as the lights would go off soon but I insisted to continue. Uche managed to win the next 12 points to level the set at 5-5 when the lights went off. We resumed the next day and the match went into tie-break. Uche took a 5-2 lead but I won 6 of the next 7 points to clinch the tire break 8-6. |

I managed to claw that break back straight after. We stayed on serve until 4-4 when I then broke again to 5-4 and then held serve to take the set, although it was still tightly contested with deuce in the final game. The whole set he kept getting the ball back and forcing me to play more aggressively, and quite often I would miss. In the 2nd set David lost some of his consistency and this allowed me to take the set 6-0. Thanks for the game David. |

This meant that there were quite a lot of errors, which I capitalised on. However he did pull off some very accurate drop shots while we were in a base line rally. Once that rustiness fades he'll be a tough opponent. Cheers for the game and best of luck in the remainder of the round. |

Uche couldn't get his first serve in, and I got some advantage there, then he had a few double faults. We had some very nice quality rallies as well, so it was very enjoyable match. At first it seemed like it might be straight forward, and at 5-0 up in the first set it seemed like I was going to win comfortably. But at that moment, Josh switch gear and held his serve, followed by a break of my serve to bring it to 5-2. Josh served next and I was fighting hard to try and break him, and at deuce we flip-flopped between each of having game point. I think we had at least 9 deuces before I finally got lucky and broke his serve to take the first set. The start of the 2nd set started in a similar vein to the 1st set and I raced ahead to 2-0 lead. Then again, Josh pulled out some amazing tennis to break my serve to bring it back on serve. I broke back and held to take it to 4-1 and then I broke again to take it to 5-1. Josh then broke me back to make it 5-2 and I then held serve to take the 2nd set and the win. Great game Josh, hope you're not too worn out for your match tonight! |
