| 07/10/2023 | George Miles | Sam Pugh | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Well played Sam - you saved your best tennis for the end to make the last set really competitive. Thanks for a great match! |
| 06/10/2023 | Patrick Zebedee | Sam Pugh | 6-3 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Once we’d spent the first 6 games both trying and failing to hold serve, this settled into a good match. All the games were competitive with long rallies and quite a few deuces. Always a pleasure, Sam! |
| 03/10/2023 | Patrick Zebedee | Diogo Faria | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | This was a good match, which swung both ways at different times. Luckily for me, it swung my way in the latter stages of each set. Diogo chased down a lot of shots and hit some great winners from shots I thought I’d got past him. It was a pleasure, Diogo, looking forward to the next one! |
| 29/09/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Sam Pugh | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | |
| 29/09/2023 | Buder Munir | Dean Mitchell | 6-0 | 6-2 | 0-0 | It was pleasure playing with you Dean. Thanks so much . |
| 29/09/2023 | Jarek Pieta | Patrick Zebedee | 0-6 | 7-5 | 10-7 | Wow……. What a match with Patrick. I still don’t understand how I’ve managed to win this match… First set 0-6, second set I was 0-3 down. I had no arguments to win any game. I was trying to change the way I was playing few times, but nothing gave me a game until……….. I said to Patrick: “there is one more thing I can do, I have energy gel in my bag”. After I’ve applied energy gel everything has changed…. I started playing more relaxed, reduced power of my shots… this gave me more ball control and confidence…. Somehow I kept my tennis level all the way to super tie break and win 10-7. Well played Patrick, can’t wait for our next match. |
| 25/09/2023 | Dean Mitchell | Diogo Faria | 6-3 | 7-5 | 0-0 | We had to play this over 2 sessions where we resumed with me leading 6-3, 4-2. Diogo made a great comeback in the second session from 5-2 down to get to 5-5 in the second set but I was just able to get over the line. Good match and I look forward to playing again. |
| 25/09/2023 | George Miles | Patrick Zebedee | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | A really touch match - Patrick’s style was varied and tricky - a close first set was decided when I broke Patrick in the last game. I raced into a 5-0 lead in set 2 and had a match point at 30-40, but Patrick held serve before I hit three double faults for 5-2, but I managed to finally get over the line. Well played! |
| 24/09/2023 | Dean Mitchell | Sam Pugh | 3-6 | 6-0 | 6-0 | Really Tough match against Sam with a strong wind. He played the first set and the conditions really well, fortunately I was able to turn it around in sets 2 and 3. |
| 22/09/2023 | Patrick Zebedee | Dean Mitchell | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Ignore the score, this was a good match, and played in good spirits. I think we were both happy with how we played, and there were a lot of good rallies, as we pulled each other side to side and front to back. I think I just outlasted Dean more often than he did me. Thanks for her game Dean, looking forward to the next one! |
| 22/09/2023 | Buder Munir | Diogo Faria | 6-3 | 6-1 | 0-0 | thanks Diogo for th |
| 19/09/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Patrick Zebedee | 6-4 | 7-6 | 0-0 | I was really eager to get this match played as it’s been quite some time since Patrick and I last played 1 on 1. As expected, it ended up being a thrilling match with some powerful serving from both sides and excellent rallies. Both of the sets were pretty close and could’ve easily gone either way. I was convinced we’d go on to play a third set/championship tiebreak after Patrick made it 6-6 but thanks to a number of unforced errors, I was able to snatch it in the end. Looking forward to our next match up! |
| 17/09/2023 | Buder Munir | Sam Pugh | 6-0 | 6-1 | 0-0 | |
| 11/09/2023 | Diogo Faria | Sam Pugh | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Good match with Sam in more agreeable weather than last time we played - look forward to playing again! |
| 10/09/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Dean Mitchell | 6-0 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Slow start in the first set on Dean’s side with a lot of double faults and unforced errors. When Dean went 3-0 up in the second I got a bit worried but somehow managed to claw my way back. Dean did his back in on one of the points but carried on regardless so kudos to him. Look forward to playing you again in the future Dean - good luck with rest of the matches! |
| 08/09/2023 | Patrick Zebedee | Buder Munir | 4-6 | 6-2 | 10-8 | A long, hard match with lots of good rallies - precisely not what was required on a hot, humid evening! Budir gets everything back, and has a wicked way with a lob. I thought I’d broken Budir’s will when I got to 4-0 up in the second set, but he rallied and it was evenly balanced from there on. I’m happy to come out with a win, and hoping for cooler weather next time! |
| 04/09/2023 | Jarek Pieta | Dean Mitchell | 3-6 | 6-4 | 6-2 | Great match against Dean, so many great rallies and so many double faults from both sides. Huge improvement since we have played last time. Can’t wait for the next match with Dean. Well played :) |
| 29/08/2023 | George Miles | Abhishek Sharma | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | A great game with some quality tennis on both sides of the net - I took an early lead in both sets and Abishek made a stirring comeback in set 2 until I just about held serve. Well played! |
| 26/08/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Buder Munir | 6-7 | 6-2 | 11-9 | I’ve only really played Buder at the club sessions so it was a lot of fun to play him in singles! Painfully long rallies in the first set and a lot of consecutive deuces tired both of us out otherwise we’d have gone ahead with a third set. Even in the tiebreak it was pretty close throughout but thankfully I managed to squeeze in the last point. Look forward to playing you again Buder! |
| 25/08/2023 | Buder Munir | Jarek Pieta | 6-4 | 7-5 | 0-0 | |
| 22/08/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Jarek Pieta | 1-6 | 6-4 | 7-6 | Man oh man, what a battle this was. I didn’t have the best of starts in the first set but the second set was definitely a lot more eventful and competitive. A plethora of good, long rallies and some fairly long deuces. Almost thought Jarek was gonna take it away easily in the third being 4-1 up, but I somehow managed to climb back and we went all the way to a championship tiebreak. Even that was super close! All in all, probably one of our best matches yet!! |
| 21/08/2023 | Patrick Zebedee | Srikrishna Raghavan | 6-7 | 6-2 | 10-3 | Fair play to Krish for playing this match despite having picked up both tennis and cricket injuries over the weekend. The first set was tight with almost every game going to deuce, and almost filled our 2hr court booking! I think I improved in the second and third sets - at least I got some first serves in - and Krish tailed off, perhaps due to his injuries. Well played Krish, and I look forward to the next one when you’re back to full strength! |
| 17/08/2023 | George Miles | Gianluca Spadano | 6-2 | 6-2 | 0-0 | A more competitive match than the scoreline suggests, including some superb defensive work and tactical serving from Gianluca. Thanks for a great match! |
| 10/08/2023 | Jarek Pieta | Sam Pugh | 5-7 | 6-0 | 6-0 | Thanks Sam for great match… Strong wind caused so many unpredictable shots from both of us… Good luck in your other matches. |
| 09/08/2023 | Abhishek Sharma | Gianluca Spadano | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | We didn’t get a chance to play our match in the LTL round just gone so finally being able to play Gianluca was really good - very fun match with a lot of deuces and fair amount of drop shots too. Halfway through the second set, Gian pulled something in his leg but decided to power through anyway. If not for that, I think this could have easily gone to 3 sets. |
| 06/08/2023 | Jarek Pieta | Diogo Faria | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Good start of the round for myself with a solid tennis. Thanks Diogo for early Sunday match with many good rallies. Diogo was unlucky in the last three games, he won only one point. This definitely helped me to close the match with good result. Good luck in your next matches :) |
