| 12/07/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Nick Newton | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Very tough match in the sweltering heat. Despite a change of start time from 3pm to a cooler 7pm, it was still quite HOT. First set saw lots of long baseline rallies, and deuces. We really went at it. Second set felt like we had emptied the tank and were running on fumes. Always a great match with Nick, thanks and see you next round. |
| 02/07/2025 | Abhishek Sharma | Jarek Pieta | 7-5 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Not the best of tennis from both me and Jarek today. We've had more intense rallies, longer points, and just overall tougher matches. This was just a day of who made fewer errors. Ofc Jarek being away from singles for a while didn't help his game much either. Hoping for the next one to be back to our usual hitting standards! |
| 29/06/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Abhishek Sharma | 7-6 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Very long and tough match. Two hours and half under the ☀️. In the second set I thought it was easier, after being 4-0, but Abhishek came back. I managed somehow to close and finally we could go home. Thanks Abhishek, this was another great match. |
| 19/06/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Patrick Zebedee | 4-6 | 6-1 | 10-2 | Very hot day, we were exhausted. Thank you Patrick. |
| 16/06/2025 | Nick Newton | Patrick Zebedee | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | To be honest I forgot to enter this earlier so may not be the right date or score, but it's the right result! |
| 15/06/2025 | Nick Newton | Abhishek Sharma | 7-5 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Enjoyable match, both sets were well fought, with the first 7 games of each going with serve. |
| 14/06/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Rory Slater | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Very humid conditions, air was still leading to lots of sweating. Rory was quicker out of the blocks racing to a 2-0 lead before I began a comeback. Just when you think you have him by playing a deep awkward ball to his backhand, Rory unleashes his killer sublime Federer-esque backhand which is great to see but not play against. Happened on several occasions as welll. Don't have the stats but it felt like more unforced errors from Rory than winners from me gave me the win. All the best. |
| 09/06/2025 | Abhishek Sharma | Patrick Zebedee | 6-4 | 6-7 | 10-5 | This match can be summarised in two words: double faults. Honestly I think we may have set the record for the most amount of doubles in a match, ever. First set was okay-ish but the second set, especially the tiebreak, was so riddled with doubles we may as well just have called it there 😂 Best to get out the rustiness in the singles than in thee doubles league matches I suppose! Thankfully I had slightly fewer errors in the final tiebreak to get the win. Till next time Pat! |
| 07/06/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Srikrishna Raghavan | 6-2 | 4-6 | 10-7 | Krish was in fine form and played really well. I struggled with his consistent first serves, and had to battle really hard to close the match in the 3rd set tie breaker. I wasn't in my best form today with giving away lots of unforced errors and double faults. But take nothing away from Krish who played really great tennis. All the best and hope to play again soon. |
| 31/05/2025 | Nick Newton | Jack Cleeves | 5-7 | 6-3 | 6-3 | Another close one with Jack. I always enjoy our rallies. At 3-1 down in the 2nd set the momentum switched and I won the next 7 games. Jack fought back in the 3rd set but luckily for me, just made a few more errors overall. |
| 24/05/2025 | Rory Slater | Abhishek Sharma | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Won my first 2 sets against Abhishek, and give was a pleasant surprise. A really enjoyable and fun match, with a lot of laughs and some really good standard of tennis from us both, especially given the level of wind we were playing in in the first set. With that in mind it became more about holding serve than breaking serve as ball tosses were moving around all over the place. Still, a “grand” way to spend a couple of hours on a Bank Holiday weekend. Cheers, Abhishek, for the match - best of luck with the remainder of them! |
| 16/05/2025 | Rory Slater | Patrick Zebedee | 7-6 | 6-3 | 0-0 | A long match with Patrick this evening in glorious sunshine but in the shade of Court 1. Patrick went 4-0 up in quick time and we were both thinking this might be a quick match, but I managed to wrestle it back and broke to lead 6-5, but my serve had other ideas and into a tie break we went. First set was 75 mins and close. Second set I managed to get a break lead before we then exchanged breaks. Managed to hold out to take the set just in time for Patrick to get back and cook dinner. Cheers as always, Patrick - best of luck in your other matches and look forward to the inevitable next time! |
| 02/05/2025 | Abhishek Sharma | Aviral Mittal | 2-6 | 6-2 | 6-4 | One of our less intense match ups so far. Both Avi and I weren't playing our best tennis at all. I dawdled along in the first then some consistent errors from Avi side in the second. Third set is where things really picked up and we had some of our more usual longer and intense rallies - could've easily gone to a tie-break or worse if I didn't hold serve at the right times. Till next time Avi! |
| 01/05/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Jarek Pieta | 6-3 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Clutch! Great weather for a match. First set was even until 3-3 where I managed to hold and then break before taking the set. Towards the end of the first set, Jarek took his energy gel. I didn't think much of it until I found my self 2-5 down in the 2nd set to an energised rampaging Jarek. I counted with my super snack, rolled the dice and went for it. I won 5 straight games to close out the match. Jarek's energy gel reminds me of Popeye and his spinach, it's interesting to see the physical and mental boost after he takes it. Great match - all the best. |
| 26/04/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Aviral Mittal | 6-0 | 3-6 | 6-0 | 3hr sleep a night before followed by a busy full day training at Bristol, I knew I wouldn't be 100% on court. However, full credit to Avi, he played brilliantly, particularly in the 2nd set. I got a bit over confident after the first set and dropped my level, Avi raised his and was very consistent. A bit of an odd scoreline but enjoyable game all round. Thanks and all the best. |
| 24/04/2025 | Jarek Pieta | Patrick Zebedee | 6-1 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Very nice evening for tennis, just little bit too many unforced errors by Patrick… Thanks for the match and good luck with your remaining matches |
| 20/04/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Abhishek Sharma | 6-1 | 6-2 | 0-0 | We bunched up the LTL and singles ladder match together, played across 2 days. One the first day, we played the LTL - Ahbishek played the best tennis I've seen. Everything was working for him - serves (an ace and won many points off his serve), drop shots, forehand winners - all firing. On the other hand I was struggling for form and barley got a first serve in. He won first set 6-4 and I managed to win the second 3-6. On the second day I was determined not to be dominated on court like last time. We closed out the LTL 3rd set 6-1 to me, and I took the momentum into the singles ladder closing it out 6-1 6-2. A bit unlucky for Abhishek not to close out the LTL on day one, he had a good chance of beating me. Long write up....sorry. All the best |
| 18/04/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Francesco Raimondo | 6-4 | 6-0 | 0-0 | First set was a tough marathon with many long exhausting games. One game had what felt like no less than 15 deuces. In the second set my first serve was more consistent and I felt I raised my level a bit. All the best |
| 17/04/2025 | Jarek Pieta | Aviral Mittal | 6-0 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Very happy with my performance today, after many many defeats against Avi, finally I got the win again. Second set was very close unit at 3:4 I’ve applied the Energy Gel. Since then, I won all remaining games.😎 I don’t know if those gels are really working, but they helped me many times to turn the matches to my side 😂😂😂😂 Thanks Avi and good luck with your next match. |
