| 23/03/2026 | John Magani | Daniel Brzozka | 6-3 | 2-6 | 6-3 | Great match with Dan tonight. Lots of great rallies, breaks of serve etc, Overall it was super close and could've gone either way. Cheers Dan, look forward to the next one. |
| 23/03/2026 | Jarek Pieta | Patrick Zebedee | 6-2 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Nice play — looking forward to the next match |
| 22/03/2026 | Aviral Mittal | Abhishek Sharma | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Lovely early morning match with very rusty Abhishek. The first few games were bit better, good quality, deuces, winners, but then he starting missing too much, the second set again too many unforced errors from both players, and Abhishek being away for so long, he was giving points more easily and more frequently. So i will say I have been bit lucky to climb up the latter. Thanks to Ahbishek :). |
| 21/03/2026 | Jarek Pieta | Aviral Mittal | 6-3 | 6-7 | 6-3 | Great revenge against Avi today! The tennis was on a much higher level than last time. Really enjoyed it. Thanks, and looking forward to the next one. |
| 21/03/2026 | Elliot Macleod | John Magani | 7-5 | 6-3 | 0-0 | John burst out the gates guns-a-blazing to take a 0-4 lead in the first set, and then he either seemed to run out of gas or I stepped it up a notch, but I managed to win in 2 sets. It was a great match with lots of great rallies. John’s game has come up loads since we last played, and if he continues to improve at the same rate he’ll be very difficult to beat! |
| 20/03/2026 | Jarek Pieta | Sam Pugh | 2-6 | 6-2 | 6-0 | Very interesting match today against Sam. He came out strong — the first four games were really tight, then he took five in a row and had all the momentum. Second set, I found myself 2–3 down… then remembered I had my super magical energy gel in my bag 😄 Gel taken… and suddenly 10 games in a row went my way! I’m sure it was just my tennis skills though — nothing to do with the magic gel 😉 Great match, Sam — really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one! |
| 16/03/2026 | Elliot Macleod | Gianluca Spadano | 6-1 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Took a while for Gianluca to get going but was a great match in the end. Looking forward to another in future! |
| 14/03/2026 | Michael Mcewan | James Beynon | 6-2 | 7-6 | 0-0 | Both played better tennis than our epic three setter last autumn. Played out on a bright, sunny morning the first set I pulled through with some strong groundstrokes and consistency. However, there was a backhand lob James performed deftly, that will haunt me for a while. The second set was riddled with deuces and was a grueling affair over an hour in length. I recovered from 5-2 down to clinch a tie breaker, but neither me or James will be walking well for the rest of the weekend. Really enjoyable contest :) |
| 14/03/2026 | Daniel Brzozka | Abhishek Sharma | 6-0 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Great weather to play tennis today. Abhishek didn’t play a long time, so 1st set went quite easy. In 2nd set Abhishek raised his level and I barely won 7:5. Thank you for the nice morning! |
| 14/03/2026 | Aviral Mittal | Jarek Pieta | 6-4 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Probably the most boring and disgusting match we both have ever played. 0 rhythm from both of us. And If I count how many points did I actually win it would be lower single digits :). It was all Jarek making mistakes. I was trailing 2-4 in the first set, and then suddenly Jarek could not get any of his shots in. And towards the end of the match, he completely gave up. I hope we both will play better next time. |
| 10/03/2026 | Uchenna Adimonye | Jack Cleeves | 6-3 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Haven't played Jack in a while, so it was good to get a game in. Weather was good in first set, but went horrible in the second set with rain, which affected both our games. Hopefully we get another game in soon with better weather. |
| 09/03/2026 | Jarek Pieta | Daniel Brzozka | 4-6 | 6-3 | 10-6 | Nice :) |
| 08/03/2026 | Gianluca Spadano | Abhishek Sharma | 6-2 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Early Sunday match with Abhishek and first one for him in a while. Overall very enjoyable as usual with quite a few games going to deuce, but the number of unforced errors made the difference in the end. Thanks for the match and I'll be looking for a challenge soon. |
| 06/03/2026 | Sam Pugh | Aviral Mittal | 6-0 | 6-4 | 0-0 | My first time playing with Avi and I wasn't really sure what to expect. Sometimes this can be a blessing as you prepare for all eventualities. I took an early lead and managed to get lucky with some shots. Avi came back in the second and was 2-4 up before I managed to find some momentum and clinch the win. Thanks Avi for a really enjoyable game. |
| 05/03/2026 | Uchenna Adimonye | Nick Newton | 1-6 | 6-3 | 6-1 | Taken a while to finish this match. First day was played in Dec and only managed to finish now - March. 1st day ended 1-6, 3-4. I was struggling with new strings at the time. On our second meeting, it was Nick who had just restrung his racquet. However, I was playing really well and was able to close out the last 2 sets. I'm sure when Nick settles with his new strings he'll be back to his usual top level. Until next time. |
| 04/03/2026 | Logan Hazle | John Magani | 6-1 | 7-5 | 0-0 | |
| 04/03/2026 | Logan Hazle | Jack Cleeves | 6-2 | 6-7 | 6-3 | |
| 27/02/2026 | Patrick Zebedee | Shaju Thomas | 6-2 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Shaju broke in the first game to take an early lead, but then from 1-2 I took the next 8 games to lead the second set. Shaju started a comeback with two east service games and break points on my serve, but I was able to hold on. Then you Shaju - always a pleasure! |
| 23/02/2026 | John Magani | Logan Hazle | 2-6 | 1-6 | 0-0 | Great match Logan, i hope to take more than 3 games in the rematch :-) But you were fully deserving of the victory yesterday. |
| 19/02/2026 | Patrick Zebedee | Santosh Nagappa | 0-6 | 7-6 | 12-10 | No idea how I won this! I spent the first 9 games becoming increasingly frustrated as Santosh went for and landed a succession of winners. Then at 6-0 3-0 up he had a slightly casual service game and I was finally able to get on the board. From there on it was pretty even. I managed to squeak over the line 8-6 in the second set tiebreak and 12-10 in the third. Thanks for a great match, Santosh. I'm looking forward to the next one! |
| 16/02/2026 | Logan Hazle | Jack Cleeves | 4-6 | 6-3 | 6-2 | Jack hitting heavy as usual to take the first set taking a 5-1 lead at the start. However, I was able to play sharp angles to escape his forehand traps as the match progressed. Very fun game, hopefully we will play again soon. |
| 08/02/2026 | Aviral Mittal | Shaju Thomas | 6-0 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Nice match, court was a bit wet but at least it was'nt windy or rainy. Well, Shaju certainly has a very good forehand, but it needs more consistency I guess. First set was very close, the score's doesnt suggest that but there were many deuce games which somehow went my way. Second set, some angel sat on my serve, and I started getting almost ALL of my first serves in. Usually Shaju will return them well, but luckily he missed some, and then he also gifted me points with double faults. I wish Sahju all the best for future games. |
| 06/02/2026 | John Magani | Rory Slater | 7-5 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Good match with Rory tonight. Thought it would be over quickly as he raced to a 4-1 lead in the first set and started much better than me. I managed to get it back and hold a few service games. 2nd set was back and forth with breaks of serve on both sides. Ive lost the last 7 or 8 matches in a row against Rory so Im happy he let me win one. :) Cheers mate and look forward to the next one. |
| 02/02/2026 | Uchenna Adimonye | Logan Hazle | 6-4 | 7-6 | 0-0 | Every time I play Logan it feels like he's steadily narrowing the gap. Match was played over 2 different days about a month apart. First set took over an hour and a half with Logan recording double digit aces. Second set was as gruelling and long as the first, and luckily for me not as many aces. In the second set, I broke his serve twice, he responded by breaking back each time. Then Logan held his serve, and twice I had to serve to stay in the match - at 4-5 and 5-6. I took it to tiebreak where I managed to win 7-2. Great battle Logan, until next time. |
| 28/01/2026 | Logan Hazle | Rory Slater | 7-6 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Very close match with rory. Good fun as always. |
| 28/01/2026 | Sam Pugh | Shaju Thomas | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | A really good match with some brilliant rallies and some amazing low shots shooting over the net out wide. I look forward to playing again. |
| 28/01/2026 | Elliot Macleod | Rory Slater | 6-3 | 5-7 | 6-1 | An excellent match played over two separate days. Rory came back from my match point at 3-5 to win the second set 7-5. I was worried he was going to stage a similar comeback in the third, but it just wasn’t his day. There was a court switch, a change of balls, a tossed tub of vaseline and a useless towel that might have all throw him off kilter. Who knows? Until next time! |
| 26/01/2026 | Oscar Albiol | Shaju Thomas | 6-0 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Shaju has a good forehand and serve, he would just need to improve the backhand to be a stronger player. Very nice guy, thank you Shaju! |
| 25/01/2026 | Sam Pugh | Buder Munir | 6-3 | 3-6 | 6-3 | Wow! I never thought this would happen. Buder wanted to test out his brand new racket so we thought let's do a Singles Ladder match. Always a great game with Buder, so much fun, I feel stretched over the court but for the first time ever I managed to get it over the line. Really good game and we need a rematch soon. Nice racket too! |
| 25/01/2026 | John Magani | Daniel Brzozka | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Great match with Dan today, some good rallies and overall an enjoyable match. Cheers Dan, look forward to the next one. |
| 25/01/2026 | Daniel Hinson | Shaju Thomas | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | |
| 25/01/2026 | Jack Cleeves | Rory Slater | 6-1 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Early 830 Sunday match with Rory and think he was still waking up for the first set, some touch games but Rory really picked it up in the second set. Going 4-2 up and looking like it might go for a third set, i managed to step it up again playing a bit more consistently and grinded out a tough second set, thanks for the match |
| 23/01/2026 | Oscar Albiol | Aviral Mittal | 6-0 | 6-3 | 0-0 | In the second set Avi found the way to make a few games, playing better and better. If he practice more he will definitely climb in the ladder. |
| 22/01/2026 | Daniel Hinson | Patrick Zebedee | 7-5 | 6-1 | 0-0 | |
| 19/01/2026 | Oscar Albiol | Patrick Zebedee | 6-0 | 6-0 | 0-0 | He had many chances to get a game in both sets. Patrick is a good player with a strong serve and forehand. Thank you for playing with me even under the rain :) |
| 19/01/2026 | Jack Cleeves | Gianluca Spadano | 6-1 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Good match this evening, second set went very close as Gianluca went 3-0 up and was unfortunate not to take it to a third. Thanks for the match |
| 18/01/2026 | Buder Munir | Daniel Hinson | 6-2 | 1-6 | 8-10 | excellent match with Dan will play again soon well played !!! |
| 18/01/2026 | Jack Cleeves | Elliot Macleod | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Tough couple of sets, especially the second which almost every game must have gone to deuce /ad numerous times. Great match Elliot, thanks |
| 17/01/2026 | Michael Mcewan | Oscar Albiol | 1-6 | 1-6 | 0-0 | Oscar has a great all round game. Strong consistent baseline strokes that had me sprinting from side to side. All that scrambling just to survive! Also has the netplay to back it up and this I was able to test a little. As ever my aim is to get my strokes deeper in the court so I am not immediately on the defensive every point. Looking forward to hearing what Oscar achieves as he challenges those above him. He has all the makings of a climber! |
| 17/01/2026 | Gianluca Spadano | Shaju Thomas | 6-1 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Perfect weather for tennis today and a good match against Shaju with a few long and entertaining rallies. |
| 12/01/2026 | Logan Hazle | Elliot Macleod | 7-6 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Very close tiebreak on the first set going to 14-12. Scores are getting closer every time we play - sabotage is needed, maybe drop a banana peel on court. |
| 12/01/2026 | Oscar Albiol | Santosh Nagappa | 6-3 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Court very wet and slippery, balls very heavy, difficult to find good feelings on court. 1-3 down in the first set I needed to adapt the game cause it was not possible to play in a regular way. Santosh is a really good player and I have no doubt that he will be up on the ladder very soon. |
| 12/01/2026 | Sam Pugh | Thomas Jasinski | 7-6 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Oh boy that was so much fun. Every game, every point, every hit was just sublime. Evens in the first, I just managed to clinch the tie break. In the second I was completely done, being 4-1 down I was ready for a third set tie break. But then suddenly the games just kept coming and coming, finalised with a slice at the net. Well done Tom! This match was so close it deserves a rechallenge. |
| 12/01/2026 | Rory Slater | John Magani | 7-5 | 4-6 | 6-3 | A very well fought contest played over 2 days with John. First 2 sets played indoors and John hit a really good level. The change to outdoors for the final set probably suited me, and I think I’ve got Dan B to thank partially as well for taking it out of John a couple of days earlier! Lots of deuces, a lot of break points and a real battle. Great fight, John - until next time 👊 |
| 11/01/2026 | Logan Hazle | Rory Slater | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Solid match, Sun got in the way, ice got less in the way but still reminded everyone that death by tennis is not impossible. Some talk about milk here and there whilst I try to make everyone forget I showed up to the wrong courts. |
| 10/01/2026 | Daniel Brzozka | John Magani | 7-6 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Really though match as always against John. Very even first set. In second set we played long rallies but I had more luck this time. In general really enjoyable and very satisfied match for both of us. Thanks John 🙌 |
| 10/01/2026 | Aviral Mittal | Patrick Zebedee | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Good match in Chilly conditions. It was sunny, and one side of the court, it was difficult to see sometimes. First set, I think Patrick was trying to get into rythm so it went a bit quick. Second set was very competitive, lots of duce games. But somhow I was able to get it, helped by a few double faults by Patrick. |
| 02/01/2026 | Aviral Mittal | Buder Munir | 6-3 | 0-6 | 6-4 | Touch match in chilly conditions. First set, Buder was trying to get into rhythm, and by the time he gained his rhythm the set was over, so I got lucky. Second set, his first serve started firing, and I completely lost my rhythm, and the set was over before I could blink :). The third set was a even match, lots of duce games, and high concentration points. Buder was serving very good with aces flying in, but somehow I got lucky. |
| 01/01/2026 | Jack Cleeves | John Magani | 6-2 | 2-6 | 7-5 | First time playing John and was a very good match, lots of competitive points and rallies. First two sets were much closer than they appeared so glad the final set went right to the wire. Served out the last set with John closer to taking it to a tie break which could have gone either way. Look forward to the next one |
| 29/12/2025 | John Magani | Daniel Brzozka | 6-4 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Close match with Dan today, some good shots and some decent rallies. Cheers Dan and all the best, Look forward to the next one. |
| 28/12/2025 | Sam Pugh | Michael Mcewan | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | A really fun match played as always in good spirits. It's been a while since Mike played, so I took an early lead in the first. However, in the second, Mike found his rhythm, and it was evens until I broke away on the fourth. Look forward to a rematch. |
| 24/12/2025 | Oscar Albiol | Sam Pugh | 6-2 | 6-0 | 0-0 | First game in the ladder for both of us. Very windy, cold and straight sunlight in one of the sides of the court. Not the best day for playing, but we both had fun. |
| 23/12/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Logan Hazle | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | A tightly contested match in the blistering cold. The first set started cagey, with neither of us giving much away, and we stayed locked at 3–3 before I managed to break away to clinch the set. The second set was a tale of momentum swings. I went 2–0 up, then the tide turned and Logan moved ahead 4–2. He was serving at 4–3, 40–0, but I somehow dug in to win that game, levelled at 4–4, and then pushed on to take the set 6–4. Until next time, all the best. |
| 20/12/2025 | John Magani | Gianluca Spadano | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Really enjoyable match with Gianluca today. Some good long rallies, lots of deuce games. Match closer than score suggests. All the best going forward and look forward to the next match. |
| 20/12/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Rory Slater | 3-6 | 6-1 | 6-4 | A nother great and competitive match. The momentum first swung Rory’s way, and then mine, and then his, and then mine again… and then his… and then finally mine again. That last bit of momentum was enough for me to win in the end while the sun was tucked behind the clouds. Very enjoyable match |
| 16/12/2025 | Logan Hazle | Elliot Macleod | 6-2 | 7-6 | 0-0 | Very close second set going to 7-5 tiebreak. |
| 14/12/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Daniel Brzozka | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Great match with Dan this morning. Cold, windy and very sunny conditions made it quite challenging at times, but some fun rallies nevertheless! |
| 14/12/2025 | Rory Slater | Logan Hazle | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | The last match I played against Logan was Aug 2024 and was also the first match I’d played since being in school - Logan came out on top then and so there was much needed revenge dished out today, though fair to say Logan wasn’t on top form. Tough conditions at St Marks today with the low sun blinding from one end and the constant battles with the grass court of Court 1. The first set Logan struggled with his serve which gave me a look at a lot of second serves, and the first set was over pretty quickly. Then, after a costume change Logan found his first serve which definitely evened up the match. Logan got close to breaking me a couple of times, taking me to deuce on my serve, but I was able to stay on top and get through those games. Then managed to break and hold to close it all out. Cheers for the match, Logan - hope the rematch isn’t another 16 months again! |
| 10/12/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Elliot Macleod | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | I've played Elliot a fair few times over the past couple of months, but this match was the toughest. We must have played at least 4 times this ladder round. All the best for the rest of your matches. Until next time... |
| 04/12/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Rory Slater | 6-4 | 6-4 | 0-0 | A fun and competitive match as usual with Rory. He turned up with his signature tight-angled backhanded winner and strong down-the-line forehands, but they were no match for my net cords, frame shots and just-barely-on-the-line wide ad serves. Great match. Looking forward to a rematch. |
| 04/12/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Abhishek Sharma | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Fun match with Abhishek tonight. Until next time! |
| 30/11/2025 | Buder Munir | Michael Mcewan | 6-0 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Wicked match! with some intense deuces along the way!Michael best of luck for future matches. |
| 30/11/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Francesco Raimondo | 7-6 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Very close and enjoyable match. The bright shining sun proved an important factor in many games, and I was lucky enough to emerge the winner from the tie break in the first set. Looking forward to the next one! |
| 29/11/2025 | Logan Hazle | Abhishek Sharma | 6-0 | 6-2 | 0-0 | We played set 3 that went to Abhishek's favour 6-2 |
| 25/11/2025 | Logan Hazle | Jarek Pieta | 6-0 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Fun match as always with Jarek's returns. But fresh balls let my serve finally break through. We played the third set ending in a tiebreak for an overall solid match the scoreline just didn't do him justice. |
| 21/11/2025 | Aviral Mittal | Patrick Zebedee | 6-3 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Good game in the chilling cold. It was more competitive than the scores suggests, for sure. I think if Patrick wont make those unforced errors, it could be tighter. Also a few double faults from him kind of helped me. I have been playing very less and after long time, so it was good to register a win. |
| 20/11/2025 | Daniel Hinson | Patrick Zebedee | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | |
| 15/11/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Rory Slater | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Surprisingly decent weather tonight following days of rain. Great match tonight with Rory. What a lovely backhand, which caught me off guard a couple of times. All the best....until next time. |
| 12/11/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Abhishek Sharma | 6-4 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Two sets with a similar story. Me leading in the beginning and Abhishek coming back, very close, but in both the sets I managed to avoid the 5-5. Court and balls wet, not bouncing great and fireworks in the background. Thanks Abhishek, we'll probably have a re-match soon. |
| 10/11/2025 | Rory Slater | Abhishek Sharma | 2-6 | 6-4 | 6-2 | Wowee what a match. Over 2 hours and 10 mins of battling from us both and I was fortunate to come out on top. Abhishek flew out the blocks and was 4-0 up in set 1 before I could even really catch my breath. Everything he was hitting seemed to be finding the lines for clean winners and I didn’t really know what to do. First serves were being clubbed past me, I was completely at a loss as to how to play. Set 2 I managed to get up a break before Abhishek levelled up at 3-3. I was trying to take the pace off the ball more as Abhishek had been outhitting me and that helped me get a hold of the set. The backhand then started to warm up and it was my turn to start hitting winners, including a particularly pleasing one of Abhi’s first serve - I’ll be dreaming about that one tonight! Set 3 and I managed to get a couple of breaks up but Abhishek kept pulling me back, and I was starting to worry about him making it a lot closer. Thankfully I could keep the errors (largely) at bay and take the win. Cheers, Abhishek - fun to play you again after a long time. All the best, mate 👌 |
| 06/11/2025 | Srikrishna Raghavan | Patrick Zebedee | 6-1 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Another interesting match today. In the first set, Patrick struggled with his serves which helped me to close the set quickly. In the second set, I was 3-0 up and during one of the points I slipped and twisted my Ankle. From then on, I lost momentum and struggled to move around. Soon I was down 4-5 with Patrick serving for set. Managed to break back and win next couple of games to close the match. Thanks Patrick again, good luck for rest of the season. |
| 05/11/2025 | Nick Newton | Uchenna Adimonye | 7-5 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Each set was played on a different night, in completely different conditions. First set was wet and windy, very difficult to rally at our normal level, and it came down to who made the most errors. Set 2 was dry and calm, with lots of good rallies. At 4-3 there was a scoring mixup and we replayed the game, which I won and went on to take the set, but I felt a bit bad benefitting from the replay. I was happy with my performance whereas Uche was still dealing with new strings. I'm sure he'll bounce back very soon! |
| 03/11/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Elliot Macleod | 6-1 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Just when you thought the rain was your issue, in comes the gusty wind. Despite the gusty winds we had some good rallies and a very competitive match. Luckily I was able to hold my nerves for the big points to convert several deuces. All the best. Till we meet again |
| 02/11/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Gianluca Spadano | 6-3 | 7-5 | 0-0 | As usual, I have to fight on every single point with Gianluca, he can really return everything. Thanks, I really enjoyed today ☺️ |
| 02/11/2025 | Nick Newton | Elliot Macleod | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Difficult conditions due to a damp court and bright morning sun, making one end a nightmare. But we managed some good rallies in the circumstances. |
| 01/11/2025 | Aviral Mittal | James Frost | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | A very good match in windy conditions. James has a super defense. Had some long enjoyable rallies. And I think the match was more competitive than the score suggests, lots of deuce games. I wish James all the best in his future games. |
| 31/10/2025 | Shaju Thomas | Patrick Zebedee | 7-6 | 5-7 | 10-5 | Great match tonight ! Thank you, Patrick, it was really challenging. |
| 27/10/2025 | Patrick Zebedee | Buder Munir | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Buder was short on recent match practice, so started a bit slowly. I was asked to get to a 5-1 lead before he started to let rip with some bigger serves and forehands. It was too late to save the first set, but he carried on in the same vein to take a 4-1 leaf in the second, before I staged a comeback. There were plenty of deuces and good rallies - plus some missed sitters from both of us... Thanks first a fun match,Buder! |
| 27/10/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Abhishek Sharma | 6-4 | 7-6 | 0-0 | Great match with Abhishek. Much closer than our last encounter. He came guns ablazing in the first set, then I managed to slowly start getting into the match. Abhishek took more risks than me in his shots today. Won’t be long until he can play those more consistently, then I’ll be on toast! |
| 27/10/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Rory Slater | 5-7 | 6-3 | 7-6 | 2 hours, 29 minutes and 30 seconds of great tennis. Rory just back from a marathon on Saturday, maybe a bit tired in the very last points, but still competitive until the final 12-10. Thank you, enjoy the rest of the ladder. |
| 25/10/2025 | Rory Slater | Elliot Macleod | 6-1 | 6-7 | 6-3 | Phew, what a match. Will be very sore-legged tomorrow for sure. Really close match with Elliot today in the wind at St Marks. Fair to say the first set Elliot wasn’t at his normal level in the first set - I probably have Jarek to thank for that as Elliot was using one of Jarek’s rackets! Second set was much much closer with Elliot definitely upping his game. After missing out on the match after serving at 5-4 we fought our way to a tie break, which Elliot came from behind to win impressively. The third set then started with a game with at least 5 deuces for 11 minutes that felt like an eternity. After going break up we exchanged breaks several times and I managed to serve it out. Really well played, Elliot, and awaiting the inevitable challenge with both nerves and excitement in equal measure! |
| 21/10/2025 | Daniel Hinson | John Magani | 6-4 | 4-6 | 6-4 | |
| 20/10/2025 | Daniel Hinson | Patrick Zebedee | 6-0 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Dan Hobson win |
| 18/10/2025 | Michael Mcewan | James Beynon | 4-6 | 6-1 | 6-1 | Phwoar think that was the first three setter me or James had played for many moons. We will be sore in the morning. Both of us were inconsistent at times, but James clinched the first set with steady serving, consistent slices and some volleying from myself that would have had Tim Henman grimacing. I managed to overhaul James in the second and third with my reliable fitness, alongside some assured groundstrokes. We both finally showed we could hold some long rallies in the third! Really enjoyable, and looking forward to the rematch when it no doubt comes. |
| 17/10/2025 | John Magani | Srikrishna Raghavan | 3-6 | 7-6 | 10-1 | Good match with Krish tonight, he won the first set hitting some nice winners and deserved his lead. 2nd set i started well and took a 4-0 lead before Krish fought back to force a breaker. I got lucky quite a few times at either break point or game point when some mistimed shots somehow landed in. Could've been a much different result had one of them landed out. Either way it was close with some nice shots at both ends. All the best with the rest of your matches :-) |
| 16/10/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Patrick Zebedee | 6-2 | 2-6 | 10-8 | Final result uncertain until the final point. One set we'll deserved for each and a tie break that I manage to turn, after being down 5-1. Thank you Patrick, wish more luck in the next matches. |
| 16/10/2025 | Gianluca Spadano | Rory Slater | 6-2 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Quite an unusual result this evening considering that all our previous matches were battles taking at least two hours. I had quite a solid performance while Rory clearly didn't play at his standard. Looking forward to a new challenge soon... |
| 14/10/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Abhishek Sharma | 6-1 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Another great match with Abhi. First set was fairly straight forward where I won 6-1. Second set was totally different, it was a set of continuously swinging momentum. I started off 2nd set by going up 3-0 and felt it would be another straightforward set. Then momentum then swung Abhi's way, winning 3 straight games to level 3-3. Then it swung back my way where I won 2 games to go up 5-3. Then it swung back Abhi's way for him to level 5-5. Then back my way where I put the match to bed on my final momentum swing sealing it 7-5. Lots of good gets and an enjoyable match. Till we meet again... |
| 13/10/2025 | Rory Slater | Shaju Thomas | 6-2 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Nice to get to play against Shaju today after a summer of often playing doubles together! Some excellent returns of serve from Shaju making it really difficult for me on my own service games. The second set was much closer as well, and Shaju even saved 3 match points at 5-2 to make it interesting! Managed to get it over the line playing percentage tennis on the slippery Court 10, complete with holes in the net! Best of luck with any remaining matches, Shaju! |
| 11/10/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Daniel Brzozka | 6-2 | 2-6 | 1-6 | Great match with Dan. Both trying and changing various racquets. He obviously had a better racquet.. |
| 10/10/2025 | Daniel Hinson | Thomas Jasinski | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | D Hinson win |
| 10/10/2025 | James Beynon | Peter Cejer | 6-0 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Some confusion over which court we were playing on, meant a delay to proceedings, but things quickly got underway on court 8. Always an enjoyable game with Pete, for which the score could have been much different if he 'd taken some of the chances. Good luck in all your future matches. |
| 08/10/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Abhishek Sharma | 6-3 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Great match with Abhi tonight. The first set was neck and neck up to 3-3 before I finally broke loose to take it 6-3. In the second set, Abhi came out firing and jumped to a 3-1 lead. The fifth game was a marathon, easily 20 deuces, before I managed to edge it. From there, I raised my level (or maybe Abhi’s dipped, or a bit of both) and closed out the set 6-3. Thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining match throughout. |
| 06/10/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Nick Newton | 6-4 | 4-6 | 6-4 | Another tough and close match with Nick played over 2 days. The 2hr slots are clearly not enough. Serving for the match at 5-2 up in the 3rd set, I thought we'd have a slightly early night but Nick locked in to break and then held serve. I managed to close out on my server at 6-4. Till next time. |
| 06/10/2025 | Logan Hazle | Jarek Pieta | 3-6 | 6-4 | 6-4 | Very close match, I forced that game into my usual 2 hour attrition. Look forward to the rematch. |
| 05/10/2025 | Abhishek Sharma | Logan Hazle | 3-6 | 6-4 | 7-6 | FINALLY 😮💨 After 4 long and very fun challenges, I've managed to topple the self-proclaimed Queen Lizzie. Today's match didn't have any of the intensity our matches usually have - likely because of the racket Logan was using but also the on/off wind. If anything, it felt like a friendly. Some good rallies here and there but nothing memorable, crazy or funny enough to what we usually have. At 1-5 down in the final set, I was already thinking about what I will eat when I get home but I guess it was one of those days where Logan was (can you believe it) running out of energy! As I write this, I can already feel him prepping to challenge me again... Bring it Queen Lizzie! |
| 05/10/2025 | Michael Mcewan | Daniel Hinson | 4-6 | 3-6 | 0-0 | Daniel was new to the ladder and I assumed would be fraught with tension upon his return to competitive tennis. Unfortunately, Dan revealed he was once a county level player and my day deteriorated from that point onwards. Solid ground strokes and an arcing body serve that sought out your guts, were just some of Dan's weapons. I was able to hold my own in the windy conditions, but unforced errors and some blistering passing shots meant Dan was triumphant. The better player certainly won on the day. Good luck on your ascent of the ladder Dan! I will seek out my first victory elsewhere :) |
| 02/10/2025 | John Magani | Thomas Jasinski | 0-6 | 7-6 | 6-2 | Very tough match with Tom tonight, he dominated first set and deserved the 6-0 lead. Second set was very close, only a few points in it but i played a slightly better tie break. 3rd set i played more consistently and managed to see it out. Look forward to the next one and all the best with the rest of your matches. |
| 30/09/2025 | Abhishek Sharma | Gianluca Spadano | 3-6 | 6-4 | 6-3 | It's always tough playing with Gianluca - I can never figure out his style! First set we both were still warming up it seems - a lot of errors on both sides and multiple breaks of serve very early on. We both struggle to hold serve on the same sides, which was strange. Short rallies, quick points, then at 2-4 down, it's like I completely forgot how to serve or hit a tennis ball...and Gianluca just raced away with the win. Second set - a lot more competitive. Both of us got into the swing of things - some amazing lobs by Gianluca for multiple service holds, even from 0-40 down! At the change over around 4-3 or 3-4, we joked about how there has not been a single awkward cord ball winner by anyone yet. Of course, 2 games later, guess what happens? With Gian about to win his serve to make it 5-5, I hit the infamous frame shot and it toppled over the net...both of us chuckled at the irony and I went on to win the set. With the court booking to run out in half hour, we quickly started the third, and it was the best one. Suddenly, my brain and body realised I was in a tennis match and I started hitting proper shots again, couple of aces and even return aces! It looked like I was cruising at 4-1 but some amazing gets from Gian and multiple double fault service games from me and before I knew it, we were at 4-3. It looked like an epic comeback was on the horizon but I managed to hang in there just a little bit longer, with fewer errors, to clench the win. Till next time, Gianluca! P.S. you know it's been a fun match when you genuinely want to take the time to write a full and proper commentary, so if you've made it to the end, hope you enjoyed the read ;) |
| 30/09/2025 | Logan Hazle | Elliot Macleod | 6-1 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Exciting match, I ended up in all fours and order of magnitude more than I should. Close second set but I managed to keep my serve just long enough to edge out the win. Very fun game overall. |
| 29/09/2025 | Patrick Zebedee | Thomas Jasinski | 4-6 | 6-3 | 11-9 | I have no idea how I got away with this. Tom spent 2h45 torturing me (in a very affable way) with a mixture of slices, lobs, angles, and just plain getting to everything that made what I shall loosely refer to as "my game" unravel. Even when I threatened to pull clear later on in the tiebreak, he kept pegging me back. Well played Tom, and, er, looking forward to the next one...? |
| 28/09/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | John Magani | 5-7 | 6-2 | 10-6 | First set very well played by John, where I was winning 5-3. He was 5 games in a row, playing an incredible level. In the second set I managed to control again the game. Thank you John, good luck for the next match. |
| 27/09/2025 | Nick Newton | Logan Hazle | 7-6 | 1-6 | 6-2 | This match was a rollercoaster. Sometimes I felt I could deal with Logan's style and other times it all fell apart. He raced out to 4-0 in the first set before I got going and came back for a tiebreak. I was expecting an easier 2nd set, but it all went wrong.. somehow the momentum then shifted my way for the decider, going 4-0 up before some tighter games to finish. |
| 27/09/2025 | Jarek Pieta | Rory Slater | 6-4 | 6-7 | 10-5 | Great match with Rory, as always.. Very close match with long rallies, great winners and many volley battles by the net… and few drop shots… I finally learned how to do it 😅😅😅😅 Cheers and to the next one |
| 26/09/2025 | Logan Hazle | Abhishek Sharma | 7-5 | 2-6 | 7-5 | Very close, always a laugh to play completely uncompetitive but always hilarious to play. |
| 25/09/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Srikrishna Raghavan | 7-5 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Very close match, many good shots from both sides in perfect weather conditions. Thank you Krish, as always enjoyable tennis. |
| 25/09/2025 | Rory Slater | Patrick Zebedee | 6-4 | 7-5 | 0-0 | First of two matches with Patrick in the next week and a half and it was a close one. It was a close match this evening, clocking in at over 2 hours. Chances for both of us throughout, with me taking the first set after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing. In the second set Patrick took a 5-3 lead but I managed to piece together a run and level things up before closing the match out. Look forward to the next instalment in just over a week, Patrick - all the best with your next matches |
| 23/09/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Nick Newton | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Another tough match with Nick played over 2 days. Deceptive scores - each point was hard fought and earned. If you're into anime (bleach), I had to use full bankai to get past Nick. I expect an imminent rematch, another tough battle. |
| 23/09/2025 | James Beynon | Neston Fernandes | 6-4 | 7-5 | 0-0 | A match of many deuce points. Thoroughly enjoyed it though! Good luck with the rest of your match's Neston. |
| 21/09/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Elliot Macleod | 6-4 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Always a tough and exciting match with Elliot, and today was no different. Great match. Till we meet again |
| 19/09/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Daniel Brzozka | 6-3 | 6-3 | 0-0 | As always, another great match with Dan today! He had the legitimate excuse of having to play with his second racquet while his first was being re-strung, but that didn’t stop him from hitting his winning killer forehands when given the chance. Good long games and a fun match-up. Looking forward to the next :) |
| 19/09/2025 | Patrick Zebedee | John Magani | 6-4 | 5-7 | 10-5 | A really good match, which swung one way and then the other. John took a 4-2 lead in both sets, before I came back. In the first set my comeback got me the set, in the second I got to 5-4 before John sent on the attack, and perhaps related, I lost the depth in my groundstrokes. Then in the tiebreak that all changed, and I took an 8-0 lead before John's fight back started. Thanks John - I'm looking forward to the LTL rematch! |
| 16/09/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Abhishek Sharma | 6-1 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Caught Abhishek while he wasn’t at his best today, while I was fresh off a coaching session. Nevertheless, still plenty of deuces and long games. I know the rematch will be a lot tougher. |
| 16/09/2025 | Rory Slater | Srikrishna Raghavan | 7-6 | 5-7 | 10-7 | What. A. Match. This was one of those matches I’d have been happy to have lost, it was so even the whole way through. Krish and I have only played once before and I only won 1 game that time, playing dreadfully. This match was the polar opposite: 2 and a half hours with deuces aplenty, dodgy net cords and a really high level of tennis. Even the more impressive considering Krish quite possibly has a broken finger and he ran me all the way. One of the best and most enjoyable matches I’ve played since joining the club a year ago. Rest up, Krish - cannot wait for the next one 👊 |
| 16/09/2025 | Jarek Pieta | Shaju Thomas | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Nice morning tennis match with Shaju. I don’t play too often in the morning and forgot how nice and refreshing this is. Well played and good luck with your other matches. |
| 12/09/2025 | Patrick Zebedee | Aviral Mittal | 6-7 | 7-5 | 11-9 | As close as the scoreline suggests - this took almost 3 hours. Avi deserved the first set, having had me under more pressure than I could apply to him, which continued into the tiebreak. In the second set we both opened up and played more attacking tennis. I thought it was curtains when he broke me for 5-3, but he couldn't convert match points in the next two games and I stole the set. The champions tiebreak was a more cagey affair, with neither of us ever getting far ahead, but I'm happy to say I converted my first match point with some attaching tennis. I'll look forward to the next one, Avi! |
| 09/09/2025 | Logan Hazle | Elliot Macleod | 6-4 | 2-6 | 6-1 | Very fun match, good shots all around. I'm sure a rematch is soon to come!!! |
| 09/09/2025 | Jarek Pieta | Buder Munir | 3-6 | 6-1 | 10-3 | Great match with Buder as always. So many long rallies followed by multiple deuces… Thanks and good luck with your remaining matches… |
| 08/09/2025 | John Magani | Peter Cejer | 6-3 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Really fun match with Peter today. Glad we had the weather for it in the end. First set was close with some great points won at the net from Peter also some good rallies in the 2nd set. All the best with the rest of your matches here and in the LTL :-) |
| 06/09/2025 | Peter Cejer | Neston Fernandes | 6-2 | 7-6 | 0-0 | We enjoyed counting deuces, and the usual testing windy conditions.. Neston went off to watch F1 whilst. I celebrated with a frappé both admirable conclusions to an enjoyable contest. |
| 06/09/2025 | Gianluca Spadano | Shaju Thomas | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Quite a strong wind today which made most of the shots unpredictable. Thanks Shaju |
| 06/09/2025 | Daniel Brzozka | Logan Hazle | 1-6 | 7-5 | 10-8 | Thanks Logan for the great tennis this morning and good luck with the next matches! |
| 04/09/2025 | Srikrishna Raghavan | Patrick Zebedee | 6-1 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Another great match with Patrick. Initially Patrick struggled with his service games, most of them went for deuce, but was able to break some. But in the second set, Patrick was firing his first serves in. We were at 3-3 games all breaking each other service games. In the end few lucky lobs helped me to gain crucial points in turn closing the second set. Good luck Patrick. |
| 03/09/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Logan Hazle | 3-6 | 6-1 | 6-3 | First time playing Logan. What a match! First set was tied 3-3 at which point Logan broke away to close out the set. His slices, drop shots and style of play disrupted my game in the first set. But take nothing away from him, he played well and grinded it out. Second and third set, I anticipated his slices and drop shots better. Also, and luckily my first serve returned in the 2nd & 3rd set. Till next time Logan. |
| 02/09/2025 | Nick Newton | Logan Hazle | 6-4 | 6-3 | 0-0 | An enjoyable first contest with Logan, looking forward to more in the future. First set was back and forth, but I started hitting the ball better in the 2nd. |
| 31/08/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Abhishek Sharma | 6-4 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Very windy day. Throw in some sun, overcast and a shower of rain, only thing we didn't see was snow. This led to shorter rallies, and more unforced errors than winners. Despite the weather we made the most of our time on court with a very tight first set. The weather let up a bit in the second set where I raised my level a bit, and Abhishek's dropped somewhat. Believe we deserve a rematch in the near future with better weather. Look forward to our next match. |
| 31/08/2025 | Rory Slater | Francesco Raimondo | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | This is the 5th or 6th time I’ve played Francesco and every match before has been 3 sets and 2 and a half hours minimum. Today was very different: the St Marks microclimate blew an absolute gale meaning shots from one end that were kitting the baseline from one end were not even making the net from the other. Fair to say my drop shot game did a lot of work today. This wasn’t a day for good tennis, this was just about playing safe and thankfully I managed to come out on top. Francesco never gives up though and came back from 5-1 down to break me twice in Set 2 (saving 2 match points as well) which had me nervously thinking “here we go again”. Luckily I could get over the line. Cheers Francesco, not our best match so look forward to a better one next time 👊 |
| 31/08/2025 | Aviral Mittal | John Magani | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | This was my first match, and I think John was not at his best, he made too many unforced errors, and I hardly actually any points, we had some nice rallies, John played some good shots, but then a lot of them ended outside the line, so i will wish him better luck next time. |
| 29/08/2025 | Jarek Pieta | John Magani | 6-1 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Happy with my performance and the result. Always a great challenge playing against John! Good luck with the next matches |
| 29/08/2025 | Daniel Brzozka | Francesco Raimondo | 5-7 | 7-6 | 10-8 | Thank you Francesco for great evening! Even level of tennis from both of us. Everyone could have won this match. Good luck in your next matches! |
| 27/08/2025 | Daniel Brzozka | Abhishek Sharma | 6-3 | 6-7 | 6-0 | Thanks Abhishek for very nice evening! Quite long as well. 2nd set was really though where Abhishek improved his serves and won it. In 3rd set I was more focused and Abhishek I think ran out of fuel and that has let me eventually win the match. Good luck in your next matches! |
| 27/08/2025 | Nick Newton | Uchenna Adimonye | 7-6 | 6-7 | 10-6 | A great contest that stayed even all the way across 2 long grueling sets and a champ tiebreak (there wasn't time for a full 3rd set). I've been trying to play a more front foot game against Uche for the last few matches without much success, but tonight it started to work a bit better. Looking forward to the next installment of this contest. |
| 26/08/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Jarek Pieta | 1-6 | 6-4 | 6-4 | Great tennis from Jarek in the first half, I could not do much. Fortunately for me, his level dropped a bit and I could turn the match. Anyway, I really enjoyed this evening, thank you Jarek. |
| 22/08/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Daniel Brzozka | 6-3 | 6-4 | 0-0 | Very tough match with Dan tonight. Didn't help that my first serve deserted me. Dan's Nadal-esque heavy top spin forehand was quite a challenge to deal with. After a tough first set, Dan came out firing in the second set going 3-nil up. I had to fight to pull it back to 4-4 before closing it out 6-4. Great match and I look forward to many tough matches ahead. |
| 22/08/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Shaju Thomas | 6-0 | 6-0 | 0-0 | A lovely evening for tennis with Shaju who played well, but just didn’t have enough attacking shots to force me out of the rallies. Have fun with the rest of your matches! |
| 21/08/2025 | Rory Slater | Jarek Pieta | 6-4 | 4-6 | 10-7 | What felt like a pretty even match with Jarek, although he felt like he didn’t play well and I felt like I played really well - funny old game, tennis. Jarek did a great job in Set 2 of just sticking with me and winning his service games. I managed to break to go 4-3 up but then Jarek reeled off 3 straight games to take us to a tie break. Even that was close, getting to 6-6 before I managed to stretch a lead and get over the line. Great match and look forward to the next one, Jarek - expecting a challenge again imminently! |
| 21/08/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Shaju Thomas | 6-1 | 6-0 | 0-0 | First time playing Shaju. Good game and thanks for the match. |
| 20/08/2025 | Nick Newton | Abhishek Sharma | 6-7 | 6-3 | 10-7 | Abi nearly got me this time. At times it felt like I was playing Uche, I've never known Abi retrieve so much and play so solidly. We didn't even have time for a full 3rd set so played a champ tiebreak. |
| 20/08/2025 | Daniel Brzozka | Shaju Thomas | 6-2 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Thank you Shaju for great tennis this afternoon and good luck in your next matches. |
| 19/08/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Elliot Macleod | 6-3 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Great match with Elliot tonight. Elliot pushed me much harder this time in comparison to the last time we met. Plus Elliot was quick around the court, getting to most of my drop shots. All the best |
| 17/08/2025 | Nick Newton | Daniel Brzozka | 5-7 | 6-3 | 6-2 | 2nd match with Daniel and he's definitely got the game to win when he can execute it, which he did in the 1st set. He lost a bit of consistency in the next 2 sets while I tried to play more on the front foot. |
| 14/08/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | Rory Slater | 6-4 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Great match with Rory tonight! First set was really close. Rory commanded the first half of the first set. At 3-4 down I manage to gain some momentum, stepped up my level and won 9 games to close out the first set and the match. Many power hitting baseline rallies that made some good tennis. All the best Rory. |
| 14/08/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Srikrishna Raghavan | 6-2 | 5-7 | 10-8 | A great match with Krish tonight! We weren’t able to finish on time (lights out at 10pm) but hoping to get it marked as played to avoid forfeiting our positions! Krish’s busy schedule and injury-prone nature makes it to difficult to find time to close it out(!) Marking third set as 10-8. It wasn’t played. |
| 13/08/2025 | Rory Slater | John Magani | 6-3 | 7-6 | 0-0 | Probably fair to say I didn’t play John on his best form. Took a 4-0 lead in the first set before a mini-comeback from John, but managed to close it out. Set 2 was a lot closer, with John constantly keeping his nose in front and me breaking several times to level things up, only then to get broken immediately! John saved a match point in the set but I managed to get a decent lead in the tie breaker and then inched over the line. Some really good rallies within the match, with neither of us accepting having winners hit past us! Enjoy the holiday, John, and catch you for the next match 👊 |
| 11/08/2025 | Nick Newton | Gianluca Spadano | 6-3 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Enjoyable match, closer than when we last played a year ago. Very good defensive play and hard to break down. |
| 09/08/2025 | James Beynon | Neston Fernandes | 7-5 | 6-1 | 0-0 | This was an interesting match - Neston stormed to a 4-1 lead in the first set, hitting some lovely cross court passes. I managed to scrape it back to 4-4, then we got to 5-5, then I crept away and managed to hold my serve in the last game to win the set. Second set, I was able to find a bit of rhythm with my serves and was less erratic in my returns. all in all an enjoyable game. Good Luck Neston with the rest of your matches. |
| 09/08/2025 | Logan Hazle | Jack Cleeves | 2-6 | 6-4 | 6-2 | Exceptionally windy day with Jack taking an early 5-0 lead. However, I started to get into my rhythm a little more and etched out the final two sets. |
| 08/08/2025 | Francesco Raimondo | Rory Slater | 7-5 | 3-6 | 10-7 | |
| 06/08/2025 | Peter Cejer | Nitesh Malik | 6-4 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Plenty of deuces and 'crushing!' baseline shots to Nitesh's backhand - always enjoyable in the evening sunshine with plenty going on in the park around us |
| 05/08/2025 | Jack Cleeves | Gianluca Spadano | 6-4 | 7-5 | 0-0 | Very close match this evening, like playing a brick wall! Everything was coming back and mostly to the back of the course even i shots i thought were winners. Very difficult to win points. The first set was steady and a good contest. The second set could have gone either way with Gianluca going 3-1 up making the most of some erratic play from me and then being 5-3 40-0 up with 3 set points. I played a bit more steady which seemed to work and carried this through the rest of the set. Well played and good luck in future games |
| 05/08/2025 | Peter Cejer | Nitesh Malik | 6-4 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Deuce gives us more serving practice. Attrition saw off Nitesh in an enjoyable game. |
| 03/08/2025 | Nick Newton | Daniel Brzozka | 6-1 | 7-6 | 0-0 | Enjoyable first ever match against Daniel, he really pushed me all the way in set 2. Very nice topspins. |
| 03/08/2025 | James Beynon | Peter Cejer | 6-4 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Great match with Peter, with many deuce games. Good luck in the rest of your matches. |
| 01/08/2025 | Daniel Brzozka | Elliot Macleod | 6-3 | 6-2 | 0-0 | Thanks Elliot for the great evening and good luck in your next matches! |
| 01/08/2025 | Uchenna Adimonye | John Magani | 6-4 | 6-0 | 0-0 | Great match with John tonight. First set was neck and neck. Second set, my level picked up a bit and Johns dropped a lil bit. Enjoyed the match. Thanks and all the best. |
| 31/07/2025 | Logan Hazle | Gianluca Spadano | 6-4 | 4-6 | 11-9 | Very close match we agreed that the third set would be decided due to through a tie brake due to time constraints. We both had a match point and I managed to serve two points ahead taking the match. Great game overall, hope to play again sometime. |
| 30/07/2025 | Logan Hazle | Abhishek Sharma | 6-2 | 3-6 | 6-3 | For the rematch between me and Abhishek was spectacular, we began at dusk – 8pm sharp, and when the match began, I channelled the energy of Queen Elizabeth the first, dealing with this outrageous questioning of my legitimacy at the top with swift excellence serving my way to a delightful 6-2. The second set you may ask? A simple lapse in my judgement, whilst Abhishek was firing simple projectiles at me with a befuddling speed seeing him take an early lead 1-4. I attempted to call upon the charming royal navy to come to my aid, unfortunately they couldn’t help me as I double faulted three times… 1-5. Abishek easily finished the second set 3-6. Now darkness was closing in, and at 4-3 Abishek cleverly timed the floodlights to lose power at exactly 10pm - smart move. After multiple royal correspondences we decided that Wednesday was ideal to meet again. After tactically distracting him during the warmup, I took the next two games, winning the match. (Then proceeded to lose every point we played thereafter.) |
| 25/07/2025 | Elliot Macleod | Rory Slater | 6-2 | 6-3 | 0-0 | A pleasure as always to play with Rory, although he might not necessarily agree with me today because he hit a fair few doubles faults and the odd shot into the net! Nevertheless it was a good long match, and he made some stunning ball catches with his racket. I just played better than I normally do today which allowed me to get away. Looking forward to a re-challenge! |
| 23/07/2025 | Rory Slater | John Magani | 6-4 | 6-3 | 0-0 | Fair to say I played John not on his best form today. Normally we have pretty long 3 set matches so this was a change from that. John raced into a 4-1 lead, breaking me twice in 3 service games and playing some ridiculous winners in the process. From there I managed to get the radar recalibrated, aided by a drop in John’s level, especially on serve. Relatively soon I was a set up and 3-0 up and managed to just keep my nose in front on the way home. Still, plenty of deuce games. Cheers John, I’m sure the next match will be much more typical of our showdowns! All the best with your matches, I look forward to a challenge again soon 😉🫡 |
| 21/07/2025 | Peter Cejer | Neston Fernandes | 6-2 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Closer than it looks as Neston let me off the hook with some errors. The net play was the highlight of some competitive rallies. |
| 20/07/2025 | Nick Newton | Jack Cleeves | 6-3 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Played in damp conditions, and with Jack switching between rackets, he never really got going. Recently we've been going to 3 sets every time. But I played a solid match today. |
| 20/07/2025 | Logan Hazle | Abhishek Sharma | 6-1 | 6-1 | 0-0 | Rain halted play middle of second set, continued half an hour later to finish. |
