In the 1st set Nick was playing really well, hit some fab winners, defended well and generally had me on the ropes. I had a 1st serve percentage around 10% so he was able to attack my 2nd serve with great effect. In the 2nd set I was down 0-1. At this point I had a pep talk with myself to get myself motivated. That helped as my 1st serve then went to about 80%, which helped me win the 2nd set 6-1. We then played a 3rd full set and I continued to serve well. We had great weather too! |

The first set I went ahead with two early breaks to 3-0, only to then lose the next 3 games to 3-3. From then on it was a lot of peaks and troughs with Matt hitting some amazing winners and then having a bad spell of unforced errors. Then it would switch. I'd like to blame the weather (sunny, slightly humid), just not used to these nice conditions 😁 |

Some long rallies and great serving by Rathi although I can’t say the same for my own low first service percentages😩 I look forward to a return fixture over the summer. |
