Aaron took a reasonably close first set, before the light ran out at 3-3 in the second. When we picked up, I was serving first, and I think scoreboard pressure allowed me to break when Aaron served at 4-5. Then I also served first in the tiebreak, and was able to get my nose in front early and hold on. As ever, it was a pleasure to play Aaron - looking forward to the next one! |

Like me, Patricia is a newbie to the club and the ladder and we’re both starting to get back into playing again. We both had good moments of play and some great rallies as well as some unforced errors and fine margins. We were both quite tired physically after a full on weekend of other sporting activities. We felt it especially in the 2nd set, Patricia took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd set and looked on the comeback but I was able to clinch a few close games that went to deuce back and forth. If drawing a match was a thing then I have would happily have called it a draw with you Patricia. The scoreline would have been a lot different if some of those deuce matches went the other way. |

In the first set I was hitting well, keeping the ball deep and with pace, conversely Nick was making quite a few errors. In the 2nd set we swapped roles, so I was making a lot more errors so slowed my game down, which gave Nick the advantage and he capitalised on this with a convincing 6-0 win. In the tie break I managed to regain some of what I had in the 1st set and started to hit better balls and we stayed even until I won 10-8. Good game, some looong rallies and some frustration. Well played Nick. |

I was 5-4 ahead in the first set and then lost 3 games in a row to lose 5-7. The second set was a little more one sided, I switched racquets which helped decrease my double fault percentage. I took an early lead to 4-1, after that it was fairly even, with both mostly holding serve, I then took the set on a break to win 6-3. The final championship was a bit contentious due to a replay of a point at around 8-7, and although I won it we agreed to replay the tie break, the following day. I took an early lead and held that to win it 10-2. |
